Old Hall Primary School launches new Out of School Club provision
Old Hall Primary School has launched a brand new Out of School Club, providing pre-and-post school wraparound care for pupils from Reception to Year 6.
Children at Old Hall now have term-time access to the provision, which offers both breakfast and after-school care from Monday to Friday. Based on the school site, it has been introduced to support families by providing consistent childcare before and after the school day.
As part of the school’s newest venture, children can access a range of activities that show a clear understanding of children’s physical, emotional and social development, with the importance of a healthy breakfast in the morning and time to relax and socialise at the end of the day highlighted in the packed-out timetable.
Nicola Carlile, Headteacher at Old Hall, said: “Our new wraparound provision is about giving families that added reassurance at the beginning and end of each day, knowing their children are safe, happy and well cared for in a familiar environment.
“At Old Hall, we want every child to arrive feeling calm, settled and ready to learn, and to leave the day with the chance to unwind, spend time with friends and enjoy being part of the school community beyond the classroom.”
Experienced staff, rigorous safeguarding processes and clear communications are all also in place to ensure peace of mind for families.
The new club also links to the school’s Aspirations Project, which encourages pupils to “Aim High” in all aspects of their lives.
Mrs Carlile added: “The Aspirations Project encourages every child to see what they can achieve and to feel confident in going for it. Small moments, whether that is sharing breakfast, being active or connecting with friends, can have a real impact on how children feel.
“When children feel positive, supported and part of a community, they are far more ready to aim high and make the most of every opportunity.”
